We can handle any job from changing your oil to changing your chassis! We do engine conversions, off road suspensions, V8 upgrades, steering upgrades, routine maintenance, crash damage, body modifications, anything and everything Defender. We even have full computer diagnostics systems that are more complex than your local Land-Rover dealerships unit! We can handle any computer needs and any upgrade or modification. All of our work in done "in house", here at our full time Defender restoration facility. If your Defender needs some work or refurbishing call ECR. We'll be glad to help.
This Defender came in as great running and driving vehicle, but the owner wanted more! He was unhappy with some of the aspects of the Rover, so he asked us to solve the problems and do the modifications... no problem. We installed a Stage 3 4.6 Rover V8 and a host of other options. Check out the partial list of modifications we made! Click here.
This 1993 NAS 110, #3/500 shown above, is a good example of how ECR can save you money, even though we may not be next door. This low miles 110 is one that we serviced and modified about 5 years ago. Its been on Martha's Vineyard doing it job ever since. You can see the work we did on this truck back in the day by going here. Recently the owner decided to have truck shipped off the island to make sure it was ready for another summer of service. The 110 was then sent to a repair center in VT and an estimate for repairs was given. It totaled over $57,000. and included things like replacing the rear brake drums. The kicker is that ECR converted this 110 to rear disc brakes many years ago, so putting brake drums on it would be a good trick. We can only guess that they never looked at the truck and just made a grand estimate in order to make some money. This wasn't a "What would be nice list", this was what they said the truck needed to be safe and relibale before the 110 went back to the island. Prices were another issue. The repair center said the truck needed new shocks. Even if that was the case they wanted over $600. for the set of Bilstein shocks, before installation. We sell those same exact shocks for half that price. Overwhelmed by the estimate, the owner remembered the excellent service and upgrades we had performed for him in the past and had the truck removed from the offending shop and shipped to ECR.
After a full evaluation and few conversations with the owner we were able to come up with a reasonable plan for the 110 and skip all the completely unnecessary, over the top work and get the truck serviced and ready for many more summers on the island for under $6000. That even included adding upgrades like ROX oil cooler lines, numerous service items and even a trip the detailer. The image above shows the NAS 110, #3/500, looking great, running great and ready for transport back to the island. Unlike some shops, we don't prey on our customers, instead we work in their best interests and on their behalf. We are always very busy, so we never need to make up work on a Defender in order to line our pockets. Building our reputation through happy customers at a fair price is more important to us here at ECR than any short term gains. We've been doing this since 1993 and we plan to keep doing it long into the future. Needless to say when this 110 does need a full restoration the customer now knows exactly where it will be going... ECR.

This 1994 NAS Defender 90 came to us in need of just a few things. We sold this 90 years ago and it is back for some minor work and updates.
The 1994 D90s didn't have an exterior lock on the tailgate, so that meant you had to crawl around inside the truck to unlock the rear tailgate. So here you can see we have added an exterior locking system like the 1995 and 1997 Defenders had to make this 1994 D90 a little easier to use. A simple upgrade but one that saves a lot of hassle.
The driving and fog light wiring in this D90 also needed help. They were installed with goofy switches and even worse wiring. Wires were jammed into the fuse box where they had added a larger fuse to carry the load of the lights (a bad idea) and it was generally a mess. The green arrows above show their way of doing it...
This image shows our way of doing it. The switches fit correctly and work great. The power is sourced from a correctly fused location and the fused relays are located under the hood for easy access. We also installed a new ECR ROX stainless exhaust system and did some other small work orders.
Here you can see the completed Defender 90, ready for pick up. Now with working lights and a number of items sorted out correctly.
No job is too big or too little for ECR. As long as it says Land Rover on it, we have you covered!
How many NAS Defender 110s can you find at your local dealer or other service center? At ECR we regularly have at least a dozen at any given time, as the owners of these rare and wonderful vehicles know that there is no place like ECR to get these vehicles serviced or modified. Our Defender work stands alone as the best in the USA. We stock a lot of parts for these vehicles that everyone else will tell you are no longer available, but we have them. In this image you can see 3 NAS Defender 110s at ECR. Some are getting routine service, some are getting wild 4.6 engines or 300 Tdi installs. Anything you can image, we can handle.
These are just some examples of the service work we do each day. Most of these smaller projects don't get listed here on our web site, but we handle all types of Defenders, and we do any type of work from general repairs and service to off road upgrades and restorations.
Don't take our word for it. See what our customers have to say in our "Mail Bag". Our custom built Land-Rovers are the best in North America, and our attention to detail is second to none. Ask the "other guys" to build or modify you a Land-Rover, with all Genuine Land-Rover Parts the way do... even they will tell you they can't even come close.
